Advancing national security with high-yield fusion
Since the cessation of nuclear explosive testing, the ability to test the nuclear survivability of devices and components at scale has remained essential to national security.
High-yield fusion produces bursts of fusion neutrons, x-rays, gammas, and combined environments with total output exceeding 100 megajoules (MJ), recreating extreme radiation environments needed for nuclear survivability testing and stockpile stewardship.
Our Demonstration System, now under construction, will be the U.S.’s only high-yield fusion capability, creating the conditions needed for next-generation threat-relevant radiation testing, stockpile stewardship, and materials qualification for national security applications.
We provide these capabilities for the U.S. government and approved industrial partners, including:
